Greetings Carolina Band Alum!

Well, another year has passed and another exciting year of Gamecock Football is underway! Now is the time to dust off the horns, unwrap the flags, shake out the pom-poms and break out the sticks because it is time for the 32nd Annual USC Alumni Marching Band!

Once again this year, your Alumni Band Committee had to work some good old fashioned “Black Magic” with USC Ticket Operations and the Athletic Department to secure enough tickets to keep our 32-year tradition alive. After considerable dialogue between USC Alumni Band Secretary/Treasurer, Ken Corbett, and the University, they graciously approved our ticket request and we will be joining the Mighty Sound of the Southeast for the October 20th game against Vanderbilt University!

Now, that we have the tickets, here is some
EXCITING NEWS! The October 20th game has
been designated by the University as the annual
“Salute to the Armed Forces” game, and
Dr. George Brozak, Director of Athletic Bands,
has invited the USC Alumni Band to join the
Carolina Band and the various military bands ON THE FIELD AT HALFTIME for USC’s annual salute to our military! For those of you familiar with this annual salute, this halftime show alwaysgenerates a rousing response from Carolina Fans as we honor our military men and women.

As is tradition, the USC Alumni Band will also join the Carolina Band on field for the tunnel and playing of 2001 and the fight song!

This year is shaping-up to be one of the most exciting Alumni Bands in years, so please mark your calendars and send in your 2007 USC Alumni Band Registration form TODAY!

A registration form is at the bottom of this page. Please fill it out and return to USC Bands at the address indicated on the form. You may also contact the band office to have one faxed or mailed to you.

One last bit of news… for those Carolina Band Alumni from the early 1980’s, our former Coquette Captain, Andrea (Brown) Pouncey, has joined USC Bands as Administrative Assistant, replacing Traci Hair who recently accepted another position in the School of Music! It is GREAT having Andrea on board and she is now helping us with Alumni communication.
