80 members of the Carolina Alumni Band returned home to Columbia on October 21st to take part in the traditional Military Salute performance at halftime during the USC vs. Vanderbilt game.
Along with members of the Fort Jackson Band, over 700 University of South Carolina, military and service personnel were present on the field at Williams-Brice, culminating in a spectacular performance
(complete with a 3-jet flyover) that moved
everyone in attendance.

The Carolina Band performed in exhibition for the 6th Annual White Knoll "Silver Invitational" Band Contest on October 6th, 2007 at White Knoll High School.
The band was welcomed with thunderous applause to the newly-constructed stadium. After performing our halftime show to the "home side" fans, the band turned its attention to the "visitor's side" of the stadium, where hundreds of high school band students enjoyed a personal concert of USC and popular songs – played just for them.
High-quality photos of all the competing bands are available for online ordering at Hi-FiPhoto.com.
Our thanks to the great members of the Marching Timberwolves, Director Zacchary Pace and staff, the Band Boosters, Principal Mayer and the Lexington 1 Board of Trustees for inviting us to perform!
USC President Andrew Sorensen dusted-of his trumpet to perform HEY PACHUCO! and SWING SWING SWING with the Carolina Band during the halftime show against the University of Kentucky on Oct. 4th.
President Sorensen, a native of Pittsburgh, has played trumpet since his days in high school.
Our thanks to Dr. Sorensen for a great evening of music and fun!
Designed by the Garvin Design Group of Columbia, foundation work for the $9.829 million dollar facility began on August 13th.
The state-of-the-art facility will house practice areas, rehearsal rooms, and storage for band instruments and uniforms. An adjacent practice field will allow easy and immediate access to marching rehearsals.
With an expected completion date of August, 2008, the Carolina Band looks forward to its stunning new home!
Crocs Inc., known across the globe for their ultra-comfortable footwear, has shown its support of the Carolina Band by providing each member with a complimentary pair of Carolina-branded Crocs. Band members spend a lot of time on their feet – now they have a lightweight, comfortable shoe that they can wear across campus or in the classroom.
